Born in Upletha in Gujarat, Yusuf later moved to Bharuch Gujarat 1971. After getting his master degree in fine art from M.S. University, Baroda. Yusuf also did studies on Black African Culture and a study on developing colors in France.

He has been constantly engaged in developing various Islamic Art forms depicting spirituality as a way of life. he holds regular exhibitions and workshops on his Sufi Art in India and various European countries.
